On 16 -17 September 2026, partners of the Alliance for Community Engagement in European Higher Education gathered in Tartu, Estonia, for a two-day Transnational Project Meeting hosted by the University of Tartu. The meeting brought the consortium together to review the project’s progress, coordinate upcoming activities and strengthen collaboration as ACE continues its work to strengthen partnerships between universities and their communities.
The first day focused on the current state of the project and, in particular, on Work Package 4. Partners discussed the development of the ACE toolkit, including criteria and requirements, the University-Community Partnership Pathway, the identification of relevant instruments and best practices, and the process for validation and revision. Beyond reviewing progress, the sessions created space for partners to exchange perspectives and turn the project’s objectives into concrete activities for the next stage of implementation.
During the second day of the meeting, the consortium agreed on the next steps for WP4 and exchanged updates on project management, communication and promotion, quality assurance, valorisation and sustainability. The Tartu meeting also marked an important milestone for ACE, taking place almost two years after the project began. It offered a timely moment to reflect on how far the partnership has come - from establishing a common vision for community engagement to developing concrete tools and pathways - and to align efforts for the next phase of the project.
